This corner room in my home somehow never hit the right chord when I designed the rest of my home. I never was sure what I really wanted to do with this room. After 3 years of living here I finally knew “This is it!!!” It has to be this room that takes on a myriad of functions so that the entire family can convene. It has to be more than just a regular family room, more than just a library, more than just where my kids believe they can sneak and watch TV or more than just my serious study. This has to be the space that reflects the way we live with our little one’s footprints overlapping ours at every other time during the day. Call it regressive, call it overbearing or call it old-fashioned, but this is the mantra we believe:

“Incorporating children into your space is the New Domestic”

Here is a challenge to CUBS

Creating personal spaces in a shared room without compromising on design and functionality and yet trying to create that utopia was in reality tougher than what we imagined. Creating that space where both kids and adults share the same space:- Now that’s a new requirement, a new design and a new CUBS challenge!!
Client Requirements:

Study cum Library

TV lounge

Kids Corner

A functional World Map.
 CUBS Design chronicles:

In an age where people design homes compartmentalize spaces and in an age where having a kid’s room along with an adult space is never an option this seems like a welcome idea. Creating personal spaces in a shared room will force families to spend time together, and yet each has their own individual space during a quiet time.

The low Contemporary Cross base coffee table from Blugum (www.blugum.com) with floor cushions encourages family bonding. This can be used as a table to play board games or even a table for kids to sit down and do their homework. The existing piano found itself a perfect space next to the low coffee table.

  1. I know this if off topic but I’m looking into starting my own weblog and was curious what all is needed to get set up?
I’m assuming having a blog like yours would cost a
pretty penny? I’m not very web smart so I’m not 100% positive.

Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
