CUBS Analysis
It was our first US customer and definitely a stepping-stone for CUBSpaces. The customer had just moved into this quiet posh area in SFO with her Maltese. Now when you have worked most of your life and you buy a dream home where you see yourself retiring you definitely want a home that is worth looking forward to after a long days work. She wanted us to design her living room. This wasn’t a regular shaped room. We had many offsets to work around. It was important to look at the space in its entirety, rather than trying to work around every offset. The best way is to first define the circulation area.

CUBS Chronicles
The Andes 3 piece sectional sofa from West Elm is definitely a conversation initiator. Its thin metal cast legs with its extra deep seat give this piece a classy modern appeal and make it undoubtedly the focal point of the room. We decided to go with the left arm sofa. Further the L section from the entrance less bulky the sectional looks. We also get an open view of the section as this makes the room more inviting and open, visually as well as literally. This layout also further accentuates the expanse of the room.
A modern upholstered swivel chair is a fresh take on living rooms. Swivel chairs are no longer relegated only to office spaces. It’s an interesting and welcome trend. The eye-catching Briggs Barrel chair from Wayfair with its tufted back, wide seat and silver nail studs gave this space a modern classic touch.
How can any arrangement be complete without an occasional chair? You can never go wrong with the wingback chair. The Asher Pierformance from Pier 1 with its midcentury modern legs found its cozy corner in the living room.
The Axis Cocktail Table from Living Spaces is a bold statement piece. We love the way the iron legs are geometrically cut through the thick slab of wood. This solid, chunky, coffee table serves as a perfect landing for living room essentials like magazines, ashtrays and vases. The Axis Side Table completed the look.
The Possini Euro Moderne Droplet floor lamp from Lamp Plus gave the necessary warm illumination throughout the room.
A rug pulls a room together. Even well populated, a room looks quite naked without a rug. For a US based client Rugs USA was it. We didnt have to look further!
A staircase wall overlooking the living room is often overlooked space. Original canvas art from Etsy has a commanding presence in the living room. No guest can leave without a discussion on the painting and a sure showstopper!!
When you have Ikea why bother finding yourself a carpenter. This is exactly what we did for the TV Unit. Designed the unit, chose the laminate and DIY the jigsaw. DIY is something we love at CUBSpaces.
The cushions, throw, curtains and the rest of the knick-knacks around the room completed the colour palette.
